Shopify Shop Promise is a delivery badge program available to the top 1% of Shopify merchants with at least one fulfillment center in the US. The Shop Promise badge is displayed on product pages, at checkout, and in the Shop app for eligible US domestic orders. 

There's no additional cost to participate, eligible merchants are notified via their Shopify admin.

Under the Shop Promise criteria, Shopify evaluates eligibility on an ongoing basis. If delivery performance drops below their threshold, the badge pauses until performance recovers.

Shopify-Native Date Alignment

Easyship now uses the Ship By and Deliver By dates Shopify provides, not just its own estimates. That means the delivery expectations you see in Easyship are the same ones your buyers see in Shopify. The two stay in sync.

Automation at Scale

Shop Promise order status are now conditions available in Easyship's Shipping Rules. Once a rule is set,users can set up rules like filtering couriers who can deliver within 5 days or selecting the fastest courier. Shop Promise orders routes to compliant couriers automatically. No per-order review required.

Together, these changes replace the need to manually check courier compatibility for Shop Promise orders and reduce the risk of badge loss from fulfillment errors.

What are the Requirements to be Eligible for Shopify's Shop Promise?

Shop Promise is invite-only. Shopify periodically evaluates merchants based on their shipping and delivery history, and if you qualify, you'll receive a notification in your Shopify admin. You can't apply directly, eligibility is determined by Shopify's assessment of your performance.

To be considered, your store needs to meet all of the following technical requirements:

Things like having Shop Pay and Shopify Payments active, the Shop sales channel installed, and a US-based fulfillment location are setup requirements. The shipping profiles update is worth checking if you haven't done it recently, since older settings can affect how Shopify reads your delivery performance.

The badge doesn't appear on all orders by default. Individual orders can be excluded if items in the cart don't meet Shop Promise criteria, so even after activation you may see it show up on some orders and not others.

What Should Merchants Keep in Mind?

Shop Promise is a powerful trust signal, but it comes with a few boundaries worth understanding before you build your fulfillment process around it.

  • The program only applies to US domestic orders. 
  • International shipments are outside its scope entirely, and Easyship's integration follows the same boundary.
