What is Redelivery?

If the United States Postal Service (USPS) was unable to successfully deliver a package, then the carrier usually leaves a redelivery notice at the end customer's address to notify them of the delivery attempt. If the customer received a PS Form 3849, then they can schedule another delivery using the tracking or barcode number on the back of this notice.

Redeliveries can be scheduled through the USPS website, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. For same-day Redelivery, make sure your request is submitted by 2am CST Monday-Saturday, or the delivery attempt will come in the next day.

USPS Redelivery Tracking

Not every USPS service provides tracking numbers, however when an order does have a USPS tracking number, it is generated and provided to the sender. Once you have your tracking number, you can track the status of your items at USPS Tracking. Only packages with the following scan events are eligible for Redelivery:

  • Receptacle Full / Item Oversized
  • Reminder to Schedule Redelivery
