How do I connect my carrier business account to Easyship?

Two ways: from courier settings in the Easyship dashboard, or with a `POST /2024-09/couriers` request carrying the `courier_umbrella_name`, for example UPS or Royal Mail, a `nickname` that identifies the linked account, your `origin_country_alpha2` and the `account_details` credentials for that carrier, usually an account number plus carrier-issued API credentials.

How long does account verification take?

Some carriers verify immediately. Others return a `202` and finish asynchronously, moving the account's `auth_state` from `unverified` to `verified`. Once verified, that account's services become available in your rate, label and batch-label workflows exactly like any other carrier service you use. If you have any issues connecting, contact our support team 24/7.

Can I use my own negotiated carrier rates and rate card?

Yes. That is the point of linking an account: your business keeps the services and commercial rates tied to its direct carrier relationship. Your rate card can reflect negotiated pricing on zones, weight bands, volume, dimensional weight, service levels, international lanes and surcharges.

How do I link my USPS Negotiated Service Agreement?

A USPS Negotiated Service Agreement (NSA) is a contract under which an eligible business negotiates specific commercial terms with USPS. Easyship hosts NSAs for eligible businesses, so contracted USPS services sit alongside your other carrier accounts. Onboarding runs with the Easyship team, outside the self-serve credential flow used for other carrier accounts.

Can I link a different carrier account per warehouse?

Yes. Each linked account carries its own nickname and origin country, so an enterprise network can hold separate agreements by warehouse, country, legal entity, currency or sales channel. Your shipping logic stays centralized even when the underlying accounts vary by location or business unit.

What does it cost to use the Link Your Own Courier API?

Generating an API key is free. Start on a free plan with no credit card and pay-as-you-go pricing, so you only spend when you ship. Link Your Own Courier is available from the Plus plan at $29/month, and enterprise pricing is available on request.

Does Easyship charge fees on my own account's labels?

Postage for shipments on a linked account is billed by your carrier under your own contract terms, so your carrier invoice stays a direct matter between you and that carrier. Platform pricing stays plan-based and separate from what you pay the carrier.

Should I build direct carrier integrations instead?

Building direct means a separate integration per carrier: separate authentication, schemas and label formats, plus version churn for the life of each one. One API covers rating, labels, tracking, pickups and manifests across every account, on infrastructure with 99.9% uptime and SOC 2 compliance.

Does Easyship replace my existing carrier contract?

No. You keep the carrier relationships you already hold and Easyship becomes the technology layer above them. When a shipment falls outside your contract, say a new country or a service disruption, you can fall back on 550+ alternative carrier services without renegotiating.
